Program Development

Responsible for all programs in the first-of-its-kind multi-generational campus for LGBT young people and older adults, I worked with a team of directors to expand programs, develop cross-department, intergenerational collaborations, and create a culinary arts training program and social enterprise from the ground up.

The Culinary Arts Program serves as both a vocational training program and a social enterprise, providing more than 12,000 meals each month to the clients of the Center while creating meaningful pathways to independence.

Intergenerational

The promise of intergenerational programming is the social connection between otherwise disconnected communities. By finding environments that mimic familial structures, young people and older adults organically create “chosen families” – something familiar to the LGBT community.

Social Enterprise

One of a handful of certified Social Enterprises in Los Angeles, the Center’s Culinary Arts Program, coffee shop, and catering operations serve to not only train youth and seniors, but also provide an income stream for the organization, allowing for a more sustainable provision of services.
